Benefits of Wind Energy in Ireland

Benefits of Wind Power

Wind is a clean, green form of energy which allows us to harness the earth’s resources without causing it great harm in return. Unlike the majority of our current energy supplies, wind will not run out and we will not have a reliance on other countries to provide it. Wind power is literally available on our doorsteps. Relying on wind to power our homes and businesses eliminates the vulnerability we currently face by relying on gas from just a handful of pipelines.

Wind energy could potentially fulfil the entire world’s energy needs, if development of wind technologies is supported and encouraged at government level. If the world was powered by wind, there would be no harmful waste products, no water or air pollution. The process of capturing wind energy does not rely on the extraction of the earth’s minerals or on pumping large amounts of water from our seas and loughs.

By switching to wind energy, carbon emissions would be vastly reduced without humans having to compromise the lifestyles they have grown accustomed to, i.e. a basic reliance on electricity. Living the lives we currently lead while significantly reducing our carbon footprint seems inconceivable yet this is what wind energy can provide.
