WindNI are currently developing their own series of wind power iniatives but also facilitate this process for other parties by providing all the services necessary to get a wind power development completed; from preliminary site analysis to obtaining planning permission and finally to turbine erection.

We would encourage all Business’s to closely examine the potential for production of renewable energy on their property. By implementing innovative energy solutions, such as wind power production on their sites, Business’s will be leading by example and showing their commitment to combating climate change and reducing their carbon footprint.

For businesses and property owners not wishing to invest but keen to reap the financial benefits of having a wind turbine positioned on their site, Wind NI can finance and develop the entire project providing the landowner with a revenue percentage and/or electricity as a rental payment.

Our province is one of the windiest areas in Europe. However, it currently produces just 8% of its electricity using renewable resources. The Government wants to see this figure rise to 40% by 2020. As a result, there will be guaranteed long-term, continuous investment in the wind sector to ensure it meets its targets set by the European Commission. This long-term government commitment guarantees wind power as a sound long term investment.
